Does
He Remember How to Flip?
Fantasy Insight-Atlanta Spring Race
By Dennis Michelsen
They say you never forget how to ride a bike. But I wonder,
has Carl Edwards forgotten how to flip after a Nextel
Cup race? After winning four times in his first thirty-four
races of his young career, Carl has now gone winless in
the past forty-one races. While this is far from the worst
streak among active drivers, currently held by Kenny Schrader
at 517 races, it is a shock to those that expected Edwards
to continue winning at a terrific rate. But Carl has been
reunited with his favorite Crew Chief and posted his first
top ten of the season last week at Las Vegas. Amazingly
despite Edwards' great record here the odds makers are
forgetting him back in Vegas. His 18-1 posting is tied
for tenth lowest this week. I wonder if you can get a
proposition bet on whether he hits the dismount on his
flip? Carl Edwards might be a bit rusty on his technique
but he WILL have a flippin' good time in Atlanta this
week!

Racing by the Numbers
My unique Power Ratings are back and better than ever
for 2007! Combining the three most important factors the
numbers never lie. Separate the pretenders from the contenders
each week with track type, horses for courses, and consistency
factored into one easy to use Power Rating. The key numbers
to remember are 80 and 250. A rating of 80 is an acceptable
risk for any of the individual ratings and 250 is the
cut off for the complete Power Rating. Drivers topping
these minimums have a much higher percentage of top ten
finishes over the past three seasons! (Only drivers meeting
the minimum will be shown in the individual ratings with
the top 25 for Power Ratings shown)
