Everything Bigger in Texas Except the Cars
Fantasy Insight-Texas Spring Race
By Dennis Michelsen
After two Car of Tomorrow races it is time to return to the Car from Atlanta at Texas. It will be interesting to see which drivers adapt the best switching from one style of car to another. Obviously only short track habits have been learned in the Car of Tomorrow so far, but as the season progresses the drivers will get used to the larger tracks with the COT design starting at Phoenix. They say everything is bigger in Texas but this week the car will be smaller! Size doesn't always matter; the same top teams can be expected to shine this week at Texas Motor Speedway.

Fast Facts of the Week

7 wins for Ford in 12 Cup races

Only one winner from pole but 75% of winners from top ten

51 cars will try for 43 starting spots

12 Cup races have given us 12 different winners

Fantasy Racing by the Numbers
My unique Power Ratings are back and better than ever for 2007! Combining the three most important factors the numbers never lie. Separate the pretenders from the contenders each week with track type, horses for courses, and consistency factored into one easy to use Power Rating. The key numbers to remember are 80 and 250. A rating of 80 is an acceptable risk for any of the individual ratings and 250 is the cut off for the complete Power Rating. Drivers topping these minimums have a much higher percentage of top ten finishes over the past three seasons! (Only drivers meeting the minimum will be shown in the individual ratings with the top 25 for Power Ratings shown)

Picking a Winner
Each week I will attempt to handicap the winners showing the three drivers I think are most likely to come home a winner! Also the TOP ROOKIE and BEST OUTSIDE TOP 20 will be forecast so you get a complete handicapping picture for the upcoming race.

Winner- Clint Bowyer
Expecting a strong weekend for RCR and a first win for Clint

Place- Matt Kenseth
Ford has won 7 of 12 Cup races at TMS

Show- Tony Stewart
When will his winning streak start?

Top Rookie- Juan Pablo Montoya
Should be as comfy as he was at Atlanta

Outside Top 20 in Points- Casey Mears
Mears is strong here and so is the No. 25 car
