Saturday Night is Made for COT Fighting
Fantasy Insight-Richmond Spring Race
By Dennis Michelsen
The pressure is on to pick another winner this week! I am in the zone. The handicapping is just too easy lately. But now the rubber meets the road. Now it is time for the big dog to hunt. Beware because another lousy cliché can't be far away! The new and improved Power Ratings have been hot, hot, hot and even better I am listening to the numbers more than ever. The result is a run of Fantasy Racing handicapping seldom seen my mere mortals. But of course here comes another COT race at another different kind of track to challenge my expertise. Do I have what it takes to meet the challenge? Well I am NOT picking Mike Bliss to win so at least I have a decent shot at continuing this hot streak. Saturday night is made for COT fighting under the lights at Richmond!

Fast Facts of the Week
Better qualify good…20% of winners from pole and 80% from top ten

Impound race so play those crew chiefs

Success runs in the family…Lee Petty the first winner here (2 wins in career) and Richard Petty (13 wins in career) was the first to win on pavement

Track has gone from a half-mile dirt track to a three-quarter mile pavement track with two other lengths in between

More family affairs…Davey Allison (2 career wins) was the first to win on the current three-quarter mile version while his Father Bobby has seven wins here

Petty last name was first 15 times
Allison finished first 9 times
Earnhardt was winner 8 times

Fantasy Racing by the Numbers
My unique Power Ratings are back and better than ever for 2007! Combining the three most important factors the numbers never lie. Separate the pretenders from the contenders each week with track type, horses for courses, and consistency factored into one easy to use Power Rating. The key numbers to remember are 80 and 250. A rating of 80 is an acceptable risk for any of the individual ratings and 320 is the cut off for the complete Power Rating. Drivers topping these minimums have a much higher percentage of top ten finishes over the past three seasons! (Only drivers meeting the minimum will be shown in the individual ratings with the top 25 for Power Ratings shown)
