Chase Locked Let's Race
Fantasy Insight-Richmond 2
By Dennis Michelsen
Some days I believe the third worst thing in this world
after fighting in the name of religion and tainted imports
from China is point's racing in NASCAR! This season we
have seen so much point's racing idiocy in the past six
races leading to the Chase. There are a few drivers that
have been immune to this ailment, but most that were on
the bubble were racing so conservative that the idiot
that designed this Chase format deserves a punch in the
mouth! Now that all but two drivers have been mathematically
locked into the Chase we should see guys gunning for the
win at Richmond under the lights. This point's racing
is so evil it can neuter Bristol but now with ten more
points on the line for the Chase look for all hell to
break loose at Richmond. When track management isn't busy
putting too much sealer on the surface, Richmond is one
of the most perfect tracks ever built! It is a short track
that can be tamed by Speedway drivers. Side-by-side racing
is more common here than any other track on the NASCAR
circuit. Saturday night is made for fighting and for night
racing at Richmond! The Chase is virtually locked so let's
race!

Racing by the Numbers
My unique Power Ratings are back and better than
ever for 2007! Combining the three most important factors
the numbers never lie. Separate the pretenders from the
contenders each week with track type, horses for courses,
and consistency factored into one easy to use Power Rating.
The key numbers to remember are 80 and 250. A rating of
80 is an acceptable risk for any of the individual ratings
and 250 is the cut off for the complete Power Rating.
Drivers topping these minimums have a much higher percentage
of top ten finishes over the past three seasons! (Only
drivers meeting the minimum will be shown in the individual
ratings with the top 25 for Power Ratings shown)
