Old Car Winding Down
Fantasy Insight-Kansas
By Dennis Michelsen
This season at the old car races we might see the Chase
teams doing better than ever. Why? They might be the only
teams willing to put new speedway equipment into play
at the end of the year with the old car gone after this
season! Each season since the Chase format has begun we
have seen Chasers in the top ten at a higher rate versus
non-Chasers during the final ten races of the season.
While the cream often does rise to the top, the reality
of the Chase teams often spending more money to score
strong finishes is also in play! Teams that aren't in
the Chase will not risk their best cars down the stretch
hoping to get good money for them from ARCA RE/MAX teams
next season. So for several reasons the smart money is
on the Chase teams this week!

Racing by the Numbers
My unique Power Ratings are back and better than ever
for 2007! Combining the three most important factors the
numbers never lie. Separate the pretenders from the contenders
each week with track type, horses for courses, and consistency
factored into one easy to use Power Rating. The key numbers
to remember are 80 and 250. A rating of 80 is an acceptable
risk for any of the individual ratings and 250 is the
cut off for the complete Power Rating. Drivers topping
these minimums have a much higher percentage of top ten
finishes over the past three seasons! (Only drivers meeting
the minimum will be shown in the individual ratings with
the top 25 for Power Ratings shown)
