Moving Time?
Fantasy Insight-Lowes 2
By Dennis Michelsen
Will this be one of the last races we ever see at Lowes
Motor Speedway? One guy you do not want to mess with is
Humpy Wheeler! If he doesn't get his way to build a drag
strip he has promised to move the entire racetrack out
of Concord, North Carolina! Humpy's battle with Concord
town officials has been a humorous distraction from the
upcoming race. News surfaced that if his plans to move
the track to a different town fail he will pick up and
build a new track somewhere else! Concord better watch
out because this man didn't become one of the richest
and most influential men in racing by not having the guts
to make bold moves. Lowes Motor Speedway might pack the
fans in and make him lots of money. The condos might be
worth millions. But if Humpy doesn't get his drag strip
he will move! If he does up and move wouldn't it be great
to see lights added to the "Rock" and have that
place host the All Star Race until the new track is finished?
Oh
yes by the way there will be another entertaining race
on Saturday night under the lights. So many drivers in
and out of the Chase want to make a bold statement in
front of the hometown crowd. Look for Roush-Fenway Racing
to try to dethrone Jimmie Johnson this week. Johnson's
record at his namesake track is one of the most impressive
records in NASCAR Nextel Cup with five wins in his twelve
starts. Good luck this week with your fantasy picks!

Fantasy
Racing by the Numbers
My unique Power Ratings are back and better than ever
for 2007! Combining the three most important factors the
numbers never lie. Separate the pretenders from the contenders
each week with track type, horses for courses, and consistency
factored into one easy to use Power Rating. The key numbers
to remember are 80 and 250. A rating of 80 is an acceptable
risk for any of the individual ratings and 250 is the
cut off for the complete Power Rating. Drivers topping
these minimums have a much higher percentage of top ten
finishes over the past three seasons! (Only drivers meeting
the minimum will be shown in the individual ratings with
the top 25 for Power Ratings shown)
