Last Race for the Car of Yesterday
Fantasy Insight-Miami-Homestead
By Dennis Michelsen
Everyone was hyping the storyline about "Who would
win the first COT race" but no one seems to care
about the other half of this story. Who will win the last
Car of Yesterday race? Heading to Miami there is a lot
of streaking going on! Jimmie Johnson has a chance to
etch his name into the record books alongside Richard
Petty and Bobby Allison. In the long and storied history
of NASCAR those two legends are the only drivers to ever
win five races in a row! Meanwhile, Greg Biffle is hoping
to add his name to another prominent list
drivers
that have won four or more in a row at the same racetrack.
This feat has only been done a dozen times with Jimmie
Johnson the last driver to have such a streak. Will either
streaker get it done this week? The smart money says no
but nothing would surprise me this season! NASCAR develops
the Chase for the Championship to assure artificial excitement
and the best points race ends up in the Craftsman Truck
series the old fashioned way! It seems like just last
week I was giving you my picks for the Bud Shootout and
now the season is brought to a close. Thank you for stopping
by every week and you can look forward to a bigger and
better Fantasy Insight in 2008. Good luck with your fantasy
picks.

Racing by the Numbers
My unique Power Ratings are back and better than ever
for 2007! Combining the three most important factors the
numbers never lie. Separate the pretenders from the contenders
each week with track type, horses for courses, and consistency
factored into one easy to use Power Rating. The key numbers
to remember are 80 and 250. A rating of 80 is an acceptable
risk for any of the individual ratings and 250 is the
cut off for the complete Power Rating. Drivers topping
these minimums have a much higher percentage of top ten
finishes over the past three seasons! (Only drivers meeting
the minimum will be shown in the individual ratings with
the top 25 for Power Ratings shown)
