Flipping
for a Thousand
Bye Bye Busch Whackers-Nashville-Race 7
By Dennis Michelsen
Just how many points will Carl Edwards win the Busch Championship
by this season? How many times will we see Carl do his
flip after winning? Last season Kevin Harvick turned the
Busch series into a joke winning by over 88 points! At
least Kevin had other Cup teams to battle with for the
championship. This season most of the Cup drivers competing
full time in the Busch series are not with teams as strong
as Roush-Fenway. Carl Edwards could turn the Busch series
into a farce this year winning by over 1000 points! The
latest stand-alone race at Nashville Super Speedway helped
him lengthen his lead considerably with so many Cup regulars
taking the week off. The championship is now a foregone
conclusion with twenty-eight races to go! ESPN cannot
be happy with this turn of events. But NASCAR turned the
Busch series into the Cup-lite series to attract more
viewers just so they could boost the ratings. Their timing
couldn't have been better with the Car of Tomorrow likely
to get fewer Cup teams to use the Busch series as a testing
race from now on. Congratulations to Carl Edwards as he
does his twenty-eight race victory tour to celebrate his
2007 Busch Championship!
