Gordon Still on Top After Magic Mile
RaceTalkRadio.com NASCAR Top 20

Denny Hamlin finally got his first win of the 2007 season
but runner up Jeff Gordon remains on top of the RaceTalkRadio
NASCAR Top 20. After slowly dropping down the poll over
the last ten weeks, Kasey Kahne finally dropped off the
rankings. This leaves Evernham Motorsports as the only
top team without a single representative on the Casite
NASCAR Top 20. Hendrick Motorsports continues to dominate
the rankings with three drivers in the top 10 and all
four of their drivers in the top 20.... MORE

20 Poll Explained
Do
you really think Jeff Gordon was the 11th best team at
the end of 2005? Well like him or hate him you have to
admit that the Dupont team got on a nice little roll late
in the season. Perhaps he was the 5th best team but NASCAR's
goofy "Chase" format relegated him to no better
than 11th!
That
was the inspiration (Along with a bump on the head) that
led to the birth of the "NASCAR Top 20 Poll!"
We have invited some of your favorite NASCAR writers,
along with some that you should get to know better, and
have put together the definitive NASCAR rating system!
Every
writer submits their own version of the top 20 in NASCAR's
Nextel Cup division, similar to an NCAA-style football
poll without the BCS BS! We then toss in one fan's vote
and quicker than you can blend up a Jose Cuervo Margarita;
you have the "NASCAR Top 20 Poll!"
Our
better known writers include Monte Dutton of the Gaston
Gazette, John Kernan of PRN's Sunday Drive, Kenny Bruce
of NASCAR Scene, Larry Woody of the Tennesseean, Thomas
